These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Chess Around Town (the "App"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who can use the App

You must be at least 18 years old to use Chess Around Town. By using the App, you confirm you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

2. Your account

You're responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under it. Let us know right away if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. In-person meetups

Chess Around Town helps you find and arrange in-person chess games with other users. We do not verify the identity, intentions, or trustworthiness of any user, and we are not involved in the meetups you arrange. You are solely responsible for your own safety when meeting anyone through the App: meet in public places, tell someone where you're going, and use your own judgment.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users;
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;
• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent proposals or profile information;
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose, or to organize activity that violates these Terms;
• Attempt to circumvent blocks, reports, or other safety features;
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the App's normal operation.

We may remove content, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe put other users at risk.

5. Reporting and blocking

You can block or report another user directly in the App. We review reports and take action at our discretion, which may include warning, suspending, or banning an account.

6. Content you post

You retain ownership of the content you post (profile info, proposals, messages). By posting it, you grant us a license to store, display, and distribute it within the App as needed to provide the service (for example, showing your proposal to other users, or your profile to people who follow you).

7. Account deletion

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile and associated data as described in our Privacy Policy. We may also suspend or delete accounts that violate these Terms.

8. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that any proposal will result in an actual game, that any user is who they claim to be, or that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chess Around Town and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, or from any interaction, meetup, or dispute with another user.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
